As part of our projects at West Wales Paving, we can supply and fit wooden fencing to your property. Fencing is a cost-effective, low-maintenance and convenient way of dividing an outdoor space, or creating privacy and shade for your property.

Types of fencing:

  • Featherboard fencing, or close board fencing, is a very popular, strong and sturdy fencing option. It is a solid fence so provides shade and privacy, and is suitable to contain pets. There is also the option of combination fencing- a featherboard fence with the added aesthetic of a latticed top.
  • Lap fencing panels are a cost-effective alternative to featherboard fencing. They are solid and so provide shade and can contain pets, but not the most strong or long-lasting option.
  • Single slatted fencing is a modern and stylish fencing option, comprised of horizontal slats with gaps inbetween. It is however a more expensive option, and does not provide as much privacy as other fencing boards.
  • Hit and miss fencing, or double slatted fencing, are other fencing options that gives a contemporary finish. Comprising of horizontal slats on either side of vertical battens, this is a solid version of the single slatted fence, providing more privacy. It is a more expensive option and harder to paint then other fencing types.
  • Picket fencing is usually a lower fence with wide gaps between each timber. Picket fencing is perfect for using in garden design to mark out different areas of your garden.
